Professor Ian Plimer -

Ian Plimer is Professor of Mining Geology at The University of Adelaide and Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at The University of Melbourne where he was Professor and Head (1992-2005). He was Professor and Head of Geology at The University of Newcastle (1985-1991). He has received numerous national and international awards for science including the Eureka Prize (twice) and the Centenary Medal. He is an independent non-executive director of ASX-listed CBH Resources Ltd and Ivanhoe Australia Ltd and AIM-listed Kefi Mineral plc.  He has published 130 scientific papers and seven books for the general public, four of which were best sellers. He is a regular broadcaster. His latest book Heaven and Earth: Global warming - the missing science (Connor Court 2009) was released in April 2009.
